Britannia Community Centre in Vancouver - "Sueños of Tomorrow"

"Sueños of Tomorrow" the first annual fundraiser for a bursary organized by Raíces Latin American Cultural Society and the Latin Education Project was celebrated yesterday at Britannia Community Centre in Vancouver.

Elsa the lead voice of Sangre Morena was the M.C. for this event and performances included Mexico Vivo Folklore and Salsa ballet, Alex Alegría with Mariachi Los Dorados, children mariachi band "Los Castorcitos", Hugo Porras "DJ Cachete VLF", Xochitl, Panchulo and more.

There was also a great motivational presentation by Carmen Aguirre, a Canadian playwright, actor, author and theatre artist based on Vancouver  who talked about her experience and efforts to study her career in Canada and the lack of actors of Latin American origin in the acting scene. She also mentioned that one of her future projects is about the controversial Italian photographer Tina Modotti who lived and developed part of her career in Mexico.
