An Art Exhibition not to be missed in Vancouver - Magical Oaxaca

"Mexico is the most surrealist country in the world" this is what Andre Breton the founder of Surrealism said in his first visit to Mexico.

The fantastical creature sculptures called "alebrijes" are a clear representation of this expression. They are from the Mexican state of Oaxaca, and are part of the "Magical Oaxaca" exhibition at the PERA Gallery in Vancouver from Sep. 7th. to 16th.

KitsFest in Kitsilano, Vancouver's best summer festival. When: Aug 10-12 2012 Hours: 9am-8pm
3-day event celebrating sports and healthy living including Basketball, Tennis, Beach Tennis, Beach Volleyball and the largest sunset Yoga on the beach "SweatFest".



KitsFest, the Kitsilano Festival,  is being celebrated at the beautiful Kitsilano Beach Park on this sunny, warm weekend.
There are tournaments of  unusual sports like Beach Hockey, Beach Tennis plus the usual outdoor 5-man Basketball and 2 -man Beach Volleyball. There are other attractions and food.

KitsFest Aug. 12th to 14th from 9:00am to 8:00 pm.

Ferry Building Ambleside Landing, West Vancouver - Dance Show and Salsa by the Sea

Vancouver has many beautiful natural scenarios to present different kind of shows like dancing, theatre, etcetera. One of them is the Ambleside Landing behind the Ferry Building Gallery in West Vancouver. Every Thursday there is Salsa by the Sea with salsa lessons  and some other additional show.

Today there was a Dance Show hosted by two recognized ballet dance schools: "Ballet de Camara de Jalisco" from Guadalajara, Mexico and Vancouver Pacific Dance Arts.

Enjoy a Musical Nooner every weekday this summer at the CBC our outdoor stage located at 700 Hamilton Street (between Robson and Georgia).  
When: Every weekday from 12 - 1pm until August 24th.

What a great way to spend your Summer lunch hour that attending an outdoor show enjoying a sunny day and great live music thanks to CBC Vancouver Musical Nooners shows.

A variety of local and international artists perform in these concerts held at CBC outdoor stage on Hamilton street in downtown Vancouver. Today local Vancouver Mariachi Los Dorados offered a great show that had everybody happy, clapping, singing along and enjoying the "fiesta" atmosphere on a warm sunny day.

Mariachi Los Dorados presented the full 12 piece band composed by great musicians who play a variety of instruments typical of the mariachi band combined as well with the great voices of the singers.

If you work downtown or are visiting Vancouver don't miss these concerts. They are at noon for an hour on weekdays until August 26th. Visit CBC Musical Nooners for more information about the concerts.
